1. New Music

The fresh new music continues to roll in at the rate of about 70 songs per month.  We now have more than 850 songs in the database by over 90 songwriters.

W Duane Clark, author of “I Will Lift Up”, the most downloaded song over the last few months, has submitted the remainder of his intimate worship songs from his “Restoration” album.

Family Worship of the Ichthus Christian Fellowship, London, UK focus on providing resources for family services and all age worship.  Check out the songs from the Prayer Album now.

Lenny Smith, author of the classic praise song “Our God Reigns”, has submitted all of the songs off his new album “Deep Calls to Deep”.

Ray Watson has submitted a number of new songs including on based on the prayer of Jabez.

A while ago Ray Watson wrote “the fact that ShareSong.org glorifies no one but Jesus and financially rewards no one but the Kingdom is a very compelling reason for people to get involved. It feels good to commit to.  This seems to continue to be the case across the board as more and more songwriters find out about ShareSong.org and get on board.

2. ShareSong.org Live Recording Day

Seventeen praise and worship songwriters, 60 singers and musicians, seven techies, and an appreciative audience of 80 got together on August 15 to perform thirty-five new praise and worship songs at the ShareSong.org Live Recording Day.

The event was designed to showcase the praise and worship music being written in Brisbane (Australia) as well as “harvest” the songs to be published on the Internet to be used freely by churches all over the world as well as help build the local network of churches and Christian song writers.

We’re hoping that this event will lead the way for groups of songwriters and musicians all over the world to work together to capture what they’re doing in their part of the world for others to use freely.

To check out the full story about the day with pictures go to www.sharesong.org/recordingday.htm.  Audio, the sheet music and even a streaming video documentary of the day will be added as soon as the post-production is finished.

3. Stats

The search engine optimisation seems to being paying off.  We now have up to 1300 visitors each day.  At the outset we though the growth couldn’t continue the way it was going, but “I have a dream” has now, by God’s grace, become “I have a reality.”  Check out www.sharesong.org/statistics.htm for more details.

A number of magazines and email newsletters have also generously featured the ShareSong.org and FreePraiseAndWorship.org sites.  This should help to continue to build the traffic.

4. CD Giveaways

RPJ records are currently doing a CD give away promotion to thank all of you who have downloaded Dennis Burnett's songs through ShareSong.org & FreePraiseandWorship.org.  They would like to send a free CD to the first 20 people who respond by submitting their contact details at http://www.rpj.org/contact.html.

6.  Prayer

Running the Live Recording Day Event drove home the fact that prayer is needed more than ever.  This is a movement that can affect change in a culture and bless people and they come to invest in sharing their gifts with others.  We need to commit this whole free worship movement to God’s hands to guide us to where he wants us to be.

With the horrific tragedy that has happened in the US recently, the one encouraging thing to see come out of it is political leaders and journalists talking about prayer.  Let us pray that the “Christian World” would again turn to God to ask Him to guide us as we admit our dependence on Him.  Pray that God would help our leaders to respond with God’s grace and love to a situation that could trigger much greater implications.

In Him
