The rubber band effect by Bruce Wadd
When making masks for children the final part of construction is attaching the rubber band. Now, it is ready for use. Put the mask over the head, and you are ‘in business’. The child is ready to create their new persona.
Here’s some wisdom for you. The mask won’t disappear unless you take off the band!
Habits, values, principles…can be just like that! Whether positive or negative, if you want to make a change, you need to ‘slash the rubber band’, to sever the connection from past thinking!
How recently has a mask slapped back in your face? Were you surprised that you still had bands attached? What rubber bands have you still got attached to your life, that remain uncut?
Here’s the Good News. Jesus can change you. He has got really sharp scissors that can cut any thickness of band.
“You are living a brand new kind of life that is continually learning more and more of what is right, and trying constantly to be more and more like Christ who created this new life within you.” Colossians 3:10
TODAY… cut the rubber bands and become the real YOU!
