Lost your marbles?

by Bruce Wadd

Ever ‘lost your marbles’?  I mean, literally!  Maybe you’ve been playing marbles as a child and lost one or two in the pursuit of childhood glory on the marble battlefield.

Marbles sometimes have the habit of disappearing in unusual places, and thus we start searching in ‘nooks’ and ‘crannies’ on the ground.

Likewise, ‘losing your marbles’ as an adult means searching for answers about unusual behaviours and thoughts.  Insanity quite often looms large in the thoughts during the searching process.

As a child I used to look under grass, in holes, underneath people’s feet, for those missing pieces of glass.  As an adult I have looked in psychological textbooks, counsellor’s couches, friend’s coffee cups… and my mirror… and found little!

But now I have learnt to look up, and I’ve discovered all the answers are in Jesus.

“If you want to know what God wants you to do,
ask Him, and He will gladly tell you,
for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him.”
James 1:5

TODAY, look to Jesus… and ‘find your marbles’!
