It’s like a magnet by
Cast your mind back to the school science experiments. Do you remember the ones with magnets? Many of you were given these two pieces of metal, by themselves somewhat innocuous. But with two metal objects unusual powers were witnessed.
I remember trying to put them together. There was one of two results – the two metal pieces either snapping together immediately like glue or being slippery as ice, and refusing to stay together at all.
We, as Christians, have been given a similar rule upon which to base our lives. Try as hard as we may, we can never change the eternal law of God.
For us to come closer to God we must acknowledge our ‘unlikeness’. We need to let God’s love draw us to Him.
The more we try to attract God’s attention by being good enough, our God-likeness repels us away from Him. It is in surrendering to Him, accepting His worthiness, that we are attracted to Him and changed by Him!
“God gives strength to the humble, but sets himself against the proud and haughty.” James 4:6
Today, remember the ‘magnet’ laws of life!
