It’s been a week

by Bruce Wadd

A week ago we had a huge thunderstorm pass over our house.  Despite the fact that I am usually fascinated by this natural phenomenon, I was so absorbed in my computer work I failed to turn off my electronic equipment.

You guessed it!  As the storm was overhead a massive strike occurred just outside, and the next thing I knew the screen buzzed and the computer shut down.  Luckily I was safe, but finally I was woken from my work-filled haze, and immediately turned off and unplugged my work tool.

After racing upstairs and checking the other appliances around the house, I proceeded to watch the storm dissipate into the evening with sprinkles of rain and the odd thunder and lightning in the distance.

There was only one problem… my modem - a vital connection with the outside world - was knocked out.

It’s been a week now, and I am still waiting for the technicians to repair the problem.  To have lost my vital communication and information source is devastating.  Will I be able to survive?

You have a much more important communication system.  How is your connection with God?  How long has it been since you have made that life-giving connection? Has it been a day, a week, a month… or longer?

Know God’s heart…

“Blessed be God who didn’t turn away when I was praying, and didn’t refuse me his kindness and love.”
Psalms 66:20

TODAY, reconnect with Him… it doesn’t take a week!
