Working on the ‘up’

by Bruce Wadd

My wife is not a morning person.  She drags herself into the morning “one eye at a time”.  Recently she rose at a very early hour, sluggishly dragging her feet into the family room and oozed into the couch.  It was almost like she was still asleep; she was just changing beds!

Me, in my inimitable morning style, responded with, “Now you’re up, why not get into the day?”  I just don’t understand people that have to lie around in the morning when there is so much to do and enjoy.

My wife’s illustrious response, thus this written comment, stands as notable.  “I am working on the ‘Up’.”  She wasn’t going to rush the morning for anyone!

How are you going with your new Christian experience?  Easing into it?  When you get a real taste of God, and living with Him for eternity, being gradual will disappear from your vocabulary and thought patterns.  You will want Him more and more, and you won’t want to be anywhere, except in God.

Here’s what Paul had to say about his desire for Jesus.

So, whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead.”  Philippians 3:11

TODAY, crave God, and be ‘up’ continually!
