Words last a lifetime by
I was twelve years old and wanting to learn, but discovering very quickly that being practical was not something I excelled in!
I heard the instruction loud and clear but my fingers responded by dropping the screw right in the tightest part of the engine.
Who could believe that that had happened? I could! My mind heard all the words but listened to the latter words over and over. “Don’t drop that screw”, and my fingers followed the mind’s instruction obediently.
Paradoxical, you might say, but powerful yet the same! This memory has stayed with me for many years, and I am still amazed at the power of simple spoken words.
The power of the negative over the positive is incredible. All of us need positive affirmations spoken into our lives on a daily basis, particularly our children and our young people.
A famous writer said, “Words you speak can leave memories that last a lifetime.” What are you saying to others? How’s your self-talk going?
Proverbs brings encouragement and wisdom about your words.
“A soft answer
turns away wrath…
Today, speak positively about everything – it will bring life!
