Wing strings by
Growing up with an older brother meant we were always looking for new, fun and exciting pastimes. So one day, during ‘march’ fly season, we decided to try and experiment. Carefully we snuck up behind several cows and removed a few long pieces of hair from their tails. Then we sat and waited to be attacked by a march fly.
Upon catching the insect we carefully attached the cow’s hair to a leg of the fly, and let the creature free. With all its effort the fly left our grasp, happy to be ‘free’. But for two boys the next few minutes provided the best afternoon’s entertainment – a fly buzzing around in circles, unable to get free!
How often do you feel like you are going around and around, not getting anywhere in life?
Sometimes Christians are prone to stay focused on their sin or the challenges they are facing. This often leads to a circular approach to life, coming back to the same point again and again.
It is only when you are frustrated, tired and sick of living this way that God can do something. Are you at that point?
The answer is really simple. It’s in looking to Him, letting Him cut strings attached, so that you can be released to fly with unfettered freedom.
What’s holding you to that circular life experience? Talk to God about it… Let go and let God! Remember…
“Sick people need the doctor, not healthy ones! I haven’t come to tell good people to repent, but the bad ones.” Mark 2:17
TODAY, repent and let God cut your wing strings!
