Way off the mark

by Bruce Wadd

In simple, step by step terms I outlined the activity to the eager students sitting on the floor. As each sentence was spoken it was like a disease was hitting them – the ‘I have no idea what he’s talking about’ expression gradually appeared on each face.

“You don’t get it, do you?” I queried. “No sir,” returned the expected response. I’d missed the mark!

So I had to redeliver the instructions in simpler terms. After round two I still had several students come to me and naively query, “What do we have to do?” That’s boiling point for many teachers, parents or coaches!

How patient must God be when He gets a blank stare; when He gets yet another puzzled response, ‘I just don’t get it!’; when He sees us doing the same wrong thing, again!

Here’s some Good News from a very patient God!

“He will give eternal life to those who patiently do the will of God, seeking for the unseen glory and honour

and eternal life that He offers.”

Romans 2:7

TODAY, thank God He is so patient, keeping us ‘on the mark’!
