Wait a while

by Bruce Wadd

“Yoooow,” screeched Luke, as he spun around on the walking trail.  A vine had caught his shirt and scratched his arm.  True to its name, ‘wait-a-while’, the vine has stopped Luke, but also the group of energetic walkers.  They laughed and watched as Luke carefully detached himself and inspected the damage.

With many ‘I told you so’ looks, the group reminded Luke of what he had said.  At the beginning of the walk he declared his disbelief, “There’s no such thing as a ‘wait-a-while’!”

Now with much more insight this inexperienced bushwalker knew differently, and walked with much more vigilance.

Have you ever got tangled up in life?  Declared something and then got caught out by surprises you weren’t expecting?

If you are anything like me, you probably have the scratches, rips and tears, even a few grey hairs and wrinkles to prove it!

Need to stop and take stock of your situation?  Whilst you’re pulling out the barbs and soothing the scratches, reflect on the simple truth of being a Christian…

“So whoever had God’s Son has life;

whoever does not have His Son,

does not have life.”

1 John 5:12

Do you have Him in your life?  Let Him know!  TODAY!
