Volume increase

 by Bruce Wadd

Normally you think of volume as something affecting your ears, but let me experiment today with an audio paradigm shift.

When was the last time you got a splinter?  You’re out gardening and your finger connects with a spike from a vine.  Do you immediately pull your hand away, and begin to look for the splinter, trying to get it out?

If you’re like me, you just keep on gardening and ignore the minor inconvenience.  Leaving it for a day, though, means that your finger goes red, and the ‘pain’ volume increases.  Your appendage is much, much more sensitive, crying out for attention.

Pain is an indicator that something needs attention!

Praise God that His sacrifice of ultimate pain on the cross, where the volume was amplified beyond comprehension, took away the lasting effect of our human discomfort.  We will live eternally with Him because of His pain absorption.

“But He was wounded and bruised for our sins.

He was chastised that we might have peace;

He was lashed – and we were healed”
Isaiah 3:5

Today, let pain’s volume turn you to Jesus!
