Victory

by Bruce Wadd

It happened in the Falklands in the 80’s; it is happening in Iraq at the moment; it occurs in smokers, drug takers and drinkers; it happens on union picket lines; in a teenager’s room; even in the stands at a football match - the sweet taste of victory!

There’s something about sitting in a stadium full of people at the final siren with the supporters of the winning team celebrating the win!

Look back over your life and recall the times when you have had victory over some struggle.  Revisit that conquering feeling, having finally achieved what you’ve been dreaming and working towards for a long time; savour the sweetness of the moment again!

It is even better when you discover that eternal victory is something you can claim as yours. Not that you did anything to deserve it.  Rather, you were and continue to be loved by a God that did whatever was needed to claim ultimate victory over evil for eternity.

Now victory is yours, to accept and celebrate!

“I do not trust my weapons. They could never save me. Only You can give us the victory over those who hate us.” Psalms 44:6,7

TODAY, celebrate the victory that is yours… through Christ!
