Vessel of honour

by Georgina Tumu

Whenever I enter Madang Resort Hotel (www.madangresort.com) I usually like to visit their small art and craft gallery. There you see different types of traditional artefacts all polished up and lined up for market.  Traditional bows and arrows, clay pots, stones axes, images of different traditional small gods etc…

Surrounding the traditional crafts are always tourists from different parts of the world marvelling over the beautiful artwork being displayed in front of them.

Standing and gazing over the professional masterpiece artwork, it brings my mind back to the Creator. Like the traditional craftsman he also has moulded, shaped and has transformed us into perfect image.

Today like the artefacts, let us allow ourselves to be shaped, polished and marketed for the master’s use. Let us be available and ready to be used!

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,

to show that the transcendent power

belongs to God and not to us.”

2 Corinthians 4:7
