Tying my own shoes

by Bruce Wadd

At some point in life every child has to learn to tie their own laces.  Some independently tie straight away, and actively refuse to accept assistance.   Others rely on older siblings, whilst other infants learn the art of controlling their parents.

From a parent’s perspective, they aim to get their child tying their own laces as soon as possible.  It can be quite difficult and frustrating watching a child learn the art of lacing.  Visionary parents resist the temptation of assisting until it is absolutely required.

God works with you similarly.  God won’t force himself upon you, but He certainly longs for you to mature in your understanding of life in God.  He waits until you ask for His assistance, and then in His time His plan for your life unfolds.

“… abiding love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.”  Psalms 32:10b

Today, trust Him because eventually you will be able to ‘tie your own laces’.
