Twinkle stars

by Karen Collum

My husband likes road trips … long road trips!

Our recent adventures saw our two-year-old son wake up in the middle of the night, overwhelmed with the excitement of being in the car in the dark.  With eyes wide, he looked out through the open sunroof into the night sky and exclaimed, “Mommy, twinkle stars!”

What a delight and privilege to witness his enthusiasm and wonder.  Every day is a new adventure for him.  He is seeing the world through new eyes!

Consider the words of Jesus…

"I tell you the truth,

unless you change and become

like little children, you will never

enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 18:3

So today, celebrate and remember the child within you.  Study the wings of a butterfly, marvel at the shimmering cobweb, roll down a grassy hill, look up at the ‘twinkle’ stars.

See the world through new eyes once more!
