True walking

by Bruce Wadd

Take a moment when you next get a chance to watch a baby that has just learnt to walk.  The parents, the grandparents… all the onlookers, are beside themselves with excitement having seen this little treasure finally discover the gift of mobility.

But in the months leading up to this point the infant has taken days, weeks or even months of struggling, falling, crying, and dragging themselves up so they can fall again.

True walking is a controlled fall.

Your life as a Christian is one that is quite similar.  The devil is always trying to get you to stumble, and that is also our nature as humans.  But God’s grace declares that we have a right relationship with Him through Jesus Christ’s death.

Now you can keep on walking, your controlled stumbling every day, because…

“There is now no condemnation to those that are in Jesus.” Romans 8:1

Today, let God get excited about your controlled stumbling!
