Traffic jam by
Driving to work is a common experience for most. But a particular challenge that many of us face are traffic jams, the often unavoidable snags of the daily drive.
I was happily steering along the freeway, my favourite radio station caressing my ears, when suddenly brake lights appeared in front. Within seconds the stream of traffic had slowed to a crawl, and moments later it had stopped entirely.
This was not an unusual experience, given that I was on the main freeway into the city, but the suddenness of the change hinted at a major accident somewhere ahead.
After five minutes it was becoming obvious that we weren’t going anywhere and so I turned off the engine, taking note of things around me. Right next door to my red sports car was an old beat up ‘university student’ vehicle.
I smiled. It really didn’t matter who you were, we were all caught by this one event, unable to move.
Like a traffic jam, life and death also capture everyone! We cannot escape the finality of this life. Death is life’s great leveller!
The cross levels the ground. Jesus equalled the life-death score. Both you and I have the opportunity to humbly come and accept His sacrifice for our lives. Do you accept the offer? It means you and I are all equal in His presence. Nothing separates us, and we can be united as one in Him. Remember,
“In this new life one’s nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things mean nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and He is equally available to all.” Colossians 3:11
TODAY, let traffic jams remind you of your true position in Him!
