Towed V8

 by Bruce Wadd

You've spent over 12 months restoring this Mustang.  The paintwork is immaculate.  The upholstery has been returned to pristine condition.  You are proud of your handiwork!

Your unique triumph in this project is hidden beneath a well-polished red bonnet appropriately adorned with shiny stallion.  Here lies a magnificently restored V8, with polished chrome gleaming, showing your pride of workmanship.

But here’s the challenge!  With all this restoration, unfortunately, the car still doesn’t run.  It’s towed everywhere.  When going up hills it often just makes it, despite the Detroit muscle being ready to go under the bonnet.  What a ludicrous situation!

What about cutting the rope and letting this metal monster run free?  How about turning the key and firing up this latent beast?  Then you would really enjoy the power, and the pose!

Did you know that many people live their Christian lives the same way?  They've got access to supreme power, but choose to stay with the fickleness of human strength, being towed around by every whim of human sentiment.

A Christian author says, "We will never do God's work in God's way apart from the

presence and power of the Holy Spirit." *

"But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives
he will produce this kind of fruit in us,
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. "
Galatians 5:22, 23

Today, turn the key to your true Christian life in the Spirit!
