Timing is everything

by Bruce Wadd

I was a sprinter in high school, always loved running fast and trying to win races.

As an adult I still love trying to get things done quickly, whether it’s painting the house, eating a meal, even writing an article!

But I notice my impatience particularly raring it’s ugly head when I’ve been building businesses, or the many times that I have raced ahead in ministry with something God has stirred in my heart.

The ideas haven’t necessarily been wrong or bad, but the timing is … often terrible!

I sit and write this article with dreams bursting inside me, wanting to do so much, but with a wry smile on my face.  I slowly learn a greater truth … that God’s timing is JUST PERFECT.

Often it means waiting, sitting rather than running, putting my hand over the mouth of my dreams, and letting them bubble away inside without a voice until God says it’s time.

Even though this article has been ‘me’ focused, it’s really about you and the internal frustration I have shared.  For those who run ahead of God; who think they can add to what God is doing; who reckon they know better than Him … here’s some timely advice:

“Those who wait for Me will never be put to shame.”

Isaiah 49:23

Slow down … your time will come!
