The vista

by Bruce Wadd

Ever stood at your favourite lookout gazing over vast expanses of country or ocean that you love?

My favourite at the moment is one called Carr’s Lookout, giving views of Wilson’s Peak, and the headwaters of the Condamine River, part of Australia’s largest river system.

The ground is parched in areas surrounding this high plateau, but here the vista is green and inviting.

When I'm here, I stand at peace with the world, totally in awe of the majestic mountains, the lush rainforests, the distant horizons, whilst I hear cattle eating the abundant green grass.  GOD IS GOOD!

One day, God will stand and look over the vast array of His people, finally returned from this earth, excited about their homecoming.  We will cheer and shout and sing in adulation for His great love, His willing sacrifice for us, His beings.

“How can we thank God for all this!

It is He who makes us victorious

through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

1 Corinthians 15:57

It’s good to look at the vista, and be in awe!
