The tunnel by
Most tunnels have been built because it was the best solution to a difficult problem. Whether its train or car or person, the tunnel offers a great opportunity to go through difficult terrain. The other alternatives are usually extremely lengthy, way too expensive or just plain impossible!
When an engineer decides drilling through solid rock is the best solution, they will know it is going to take time, money and lots of perseverance. Unexpected delays and difficult rock formations are common.
From here on the tunnel is merely darkness for a time, with a light at the other end – it is a matter of just continuing to move forward!
Facing conflict with others – family, friends or workmates - can be similar to the tunnel experience! Intimacy is only achieved by going through the pain of transparency and forgiveness.
Sometimes there hardly seems to be hope of a resolution, but here is some good news - the tunnel has already been dug, you just have to go through it!
Here is the answer to true intimacy as a Christian…
“Stop lying to each other; tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves.” Ephesians 4:25
TODAY, be honest… go through the tunnel that leads to intimacy with others!
