The first time… by Bruce Wadd
…I ever laid eyes on my wonderful wife, I saw this young, vivacious, attractive, blonde curly haired ‘chick’, chasing some other male in the water. Immediately she was of interest… I had to get to know this person! We were only eighteen!
That same evening I happened to see her sprain an ankle, and, thus, she obviously needed someone to talk to her whilst she was recuperating… and, therefore, our relationship began!
Now, thirty years on, we took the time to revisit the place, the beach where we first met. We realized, which is probably as much a miracle as our hard work, that we still love each other. There is something between us we can’t deny, and it has often kept us together through the ‘not-so-romantic’ times!
Why am I telling you this? We’ve all been instructed to revisit our first love… with God. Whether for five days, weeks or even five decades, we are challenged to be in love with Jesus.
