The bouquet

by Suresh Manoharan

The other day at a school anniversary, I was presented with the most beautiful bouquet I had seen for a long time.  The array of colours grabbed my attention so much that I wanted to preserve it forever, though I knew the flowers would fade quickly, severed as they were from their life source.

Christians are to remain connected to the ‘true vine’, if they are to be ‘beautiful’ forever.  As long as the life-giving sap of His Spirit flows through us, we are bound to bloom spiritually, with pristine beauty of our lives bearing Christ-like character for everyone to see and marvel!

As someone said “Christianity is not our responsibility but rather our response to His ability”.  Our response is to remain connected to Him!

“I am the vine; you are the branches.

If a man remains in Me and I in him,

he will bear much fruit;

apart from Me you

can do nothing.”

John 15:5

Father, enable me to dwell in thy Son at all times. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
