The language barrier

by Karen Collum

A typical conversation in my house goes something like this.

Two-year-old: “Mummy, bark.”

Me: “Did the puppy bark?”

Two-year-old (trying to be patient): “No Mummy. Bark.”

Me (racking my brain for another word): “Is it time for a bath?”

Two-year-old (getting frustrated): “No. Bark.”

Me (looking for inspiration): “It’s dark outside?”

Two-year-old smiles. Sweet relief - for both of us!

Sometimes it’s hard to pray.  We stutter, stammer, mumble, moan… like a toddler battling with limited vocabulary, we just don’t know what to say.

But here’s the good news.

“… when we don't know what to pray for,

the Spirit prays for us in ways

that cannot be put into words.”

Romans 8:26

TODAY!  Know that God hears and understands your prayers.
