The sugar bowl shake

by Bruce Wadd

Isn’t it funny how it usually seems to be you that discovers the empty sugar bowl?  Do you whine and complain, mostly in your mind, about how it always seems to be you?

Once you get ‘over it’, the task of filling the sugar bowl is really quite simple.  Get out the sugar container, scoop out some granules and carefully pour them into the bowl.

By the way, there is another rule that says you need to spill a few onto the bench!  And for some that means depositing a whole heap onto the floor!

After your first attempt at filling, does it look full? Or could more go in?  You carefully bump the sugar container on the counter.  Why?  Because you know that in shaking it, the granules tighten up, and create room for more.

Is God shaking your life at the moment?  Do you need a shake-up to get your attention? As yourself this question…

“Is your life full of difficulties and temptations? When the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow…don’t try to squirm out of your problems…when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.”
James 1:3,4

TODAY, do the ‘sugar bowl shake’ with Him!
