Sun on the face

by Bruce Wadd

The sun is just peaking over the clear horizon.  Mist is hanging in the valleys, and many chimneys are releasing their slow and winding smoke stream.  White frost has touched the low-lying areas, and the first cockatoos are silhouetted in the bright morning sky.  It’s a beautiful winter’s morning!

You slide on your slippers, slip into your dressing gown and proceed to the kitchen, flicking on the electric jug as an automatic response to the cold morning chill.  It’s time to warm the inner person with a hot drink.

Once the brew has been made, you wander out to the front lawn and retrieve the morning paper, tiptoeing vigilantly over the icy grass, quickly retreating to the warmth of your kitchen hideaway.

And then you notice it – your favourite chair has a stream of sunshine peaking through the curtains.  You open them wide, grab your steaming cuppa, and sit to enjoy the paper and sunshine.  With caressing warmth the sun strokes your face, and combined with the pleasantly brewed concoction, life couldn’t be better!

Having Jesus in your heart is similar.  He brings beauty, warmth, peace, wisdom and joy to your life beyond your wildest dreams.  You need to sit in a place where you can bathe in His glory!

“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart!  And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives.  So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

John 14:27

TODAY, get the Son on your face!
