Straight and narrow

by Suresh Manoharan

In a developing country like India, where the Government struggles to provide the basic necessities to its masses, not much attention is paid to relatively unimportant subjects like sports.  Hence medals in international competitions are hard to come by.

Some years ago, when an Indian female athlete won a gold medal in an international competition, there was much rejoicing in the country.

However our ecstasy turned to agony, when that athlete was disqualified for lane crossing.

It made me think, about my own 'spiritual' race.  Am I running properly in the straight and narrow lane, the Lord has laid for me?

Want to get a 'gold medal' from the Lord in the spiritual race?  Avoid lane crossing…

“But small is the gate and narrow the road

that leads to life.”
Matthew 7:14
