Stirring the honey pot

by Bruce Wadd

Diesel was out walking with me, and I could tell from his high level of activity he was going to do something crazy. It didn’t take long to discover!

Normally he would walk past this particular fence with plenty of distance, knowing that two large security dogs guarded the premises.

But on this particular morning, he just couldn’t resist. He just had to ‘stir the honey pot’. Within moments he was tearing from one end of the fence to the other creating hysteria in these animals barking ferociously, and beginning to froth at the mouth. Thankfully a fence separated them!

Then he just pranced away, with a dog-smile, looking like he had accomplished what he had set out to do!

I just stood and wondered, would he be the same ‘cocky’ dog if the gate was open?

How often are you ‘flirting’ with sin, knowing it’s wrong, but just letting it touch the edges of your life, thinking that it will be OK.

Run now before it’s too late, before it takes over your life, and you are captured.

“So give yourselves humbly to God.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

James 4:7

TODAY, leave the stirring to Him!
