Starting again

by Karen Collum

Relationships are complicated.  Interact with someone for a few weeks, months, or years, and there are bound to be points of difference, hurt feelings, even crossed boundaries.  Sometimes we wish we could start over.

Recently, my husband and I reaffirmed our wedding vows.  Ten years of marriage had left us both with some battle wounds.  We needed to start over in an intimate ceremony involving just the two of us.

Once again pledged to love, honour, cherish and comfort each other for the rest of our lives, to God and to each other.  We made a decision to let go of the past and start afresh.

In the Bible, Paul knew about new beginnings.

“If anyone belongs to Christ,

 there is a new creation.  The old things have gone;

everything is made new!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Praise God by belonging to Him, you can start again and be made new!
