Slow leak by
It is a frustrating experience to have a slow leak in your car or bike tyre. If you are anything like me, you don’t look at your tyres very often, and so you don’t notice the pressure decreasing.
Only last week I became rather aware of a slow leak when I drove around my local roundabout. About half way through the curve my car felt like it just wanted to keep going straight ahead, that the tyre had rolled off its rim!
As soon as possible I pulled over, and saw what I had guessed to be true - a tyre that was half flat. Luckily, it was only a kilometre to home and a tyre pump.
How often have you had a slow leak, when you’ve been a long way from a garage or pump?
Sin can be just like this slow leak. It’s often not a noticeable or big problem at the start, but given time it has disastrous effects. The devil, author of all sin, wants to erode your life – your integrity, self-esteem and purpose! But have a look at God’s alternative…
“The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” John 10:10
TODAY, watch out for leaks! Instead, live life to the full!
