She was safe

She slid forward on her seat, obviously engaged in a positive and warm conversation. Lena was happy.  Sitting with the good friends she hadn’t seen for several months, she was now enjoying the intimacy and joy of conversation.

Normally this middle-aged lady was uncomfortable, even awkward, in social situations, often pulling back from chatting with people and hiding within herself.  But now, with people she knew, trusted and loved, this reserved individual shone.

In Jesus we can feel safe, ‘at home’, relaxed… knowing that our relationship with the Saviour of this world is entirely solid.  We can overflow with gratitude for His awesome love, and be secure in the knowledge that we are His children.

“His presence within us is

God’s guarantee that He really will

give us all that He promised…”
