Shaky ladder syndrome by
I just have to share a funny experience. One company’s representative arrived, and right from the initial handshake, I could just tell that this sales person was rather awkward. When I started asking questions about the possible problem and solution, he didn’t seem to have a clue.
The real test came, though, when he got ready for the roof inspection. Having trouble getting the extension ladder to lengthen was the beginning of a comedy of errors. He leant the ladder against the wrong wall. Then he took off his shoes, and had to come down after four steps because the rungs were too hard on his feet.
Finally, about half way up the ladder, in obvious discomfort he called to me to hold the ladder so it would stop shaking.
I found it difficult not to burst into hilarious laughter at this comedy show. As you can imagine, he didn’t get the business.
This just reminds me of other areas of life. If we don’t follow the calling God gives us, we tend to develop ‘shaky ladder syndrome’, looking increasingly awkward and out-of-place.
Remember, your goal is…
“… to measure up to God’s plan for us…” 2 Corinthians 10:13
Today, be true to God’s calling in your life!
