Seasons of growth

by Bruce Wadd

Walking through the Australian bush most of the year, but particularly in springtime, you see new growth on eucalypts.

‘Gum’ trees, as Australians commonly know them, are continually growing, but as certain times of the year their development is more spectacular.

To look at a growing tree its coverage of leaves is various shades of green. Upon closer inspection you see an outer covering of subtle pinkish grey colour, all new growth plus a coating of fine hair.

This new growth represents the next stage of this eucalypt’s life, preparing for the intense heat of the long summer.

Like ‘gums’, your life comes in phases - times of pain, restoration and renewal, through to absolute joy. Look out for the new growth, because it will come as God daily renews your heart!

“Great is His faithfulness;
His loving kindness begins afresh each day.”
Lamentations 3:23

Let Jesus grow inside you, TODAY!
