Running shoes

by Brandy Ferguson

Putting on your shoes every morning before you start your day gets you up and moving faster!

This morning I put on my running shoes… and they're still on!  I could use an energy boost.  I am not running, not any harder than normal, but it is days like these I say, "What I really need is more hours to get things done!"

We all know that even if we had more hours we would just need more sleep. So what is it we need to keep us going?

Instead of kicking ourselves into high gear, forcing on those running shoes, why not adjust the pace?  When life gets rough, making sure all the things needing completion get done, maybe we should just get idle for a little while, let God, and just live!

Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, what we would eat, or drink, or wear.  I know we still have to get up, feed our children, dress them, and live our lives as normal.

But there needs to be a balance.  Slow it down, when you need to, and...

"Be still and know that He is God."

Psalm 46:10

Kick off your running shoes, and take some time to be with Him!
