Renovation perspective

by Bruce Wadd

I stood on top of the hill looking over my estate, excited by the prospect of seeing our new renovation.

For several months my wife and I had been working on various additions and changes to our current home. The most significant being the extra deck!

The new roof covering the decking was tall and outstanding. I knew the hours of work, the sweat and the money that had gone into our recent investment. This was my first chance to view the changes from my favourite vantage point.

Wow… I couldn’t believe how small and insignificant it looked! Amongst the hundreds of homes my renovation was virtually unnoticeable.  I was a little deflated, but then perspective and common sense took over.

How often have you been so focused on a circumstance in your life, thinking how incredibly impacting it was, till you stood back and looked at this ‘thing’ from a different vantage point? Then you realized how insignificant it really was!

Without lessening the importance of each happening, get a God-perspective right now. Pause for a moment, and let Him speak to you about the issue, the problem, the challenge… you are facing. What’s He saying? Listen carefully!

“…the Lord says, ‘Turn to Me now, while there is time. Give Me all your heart.

Come with fasting, weeping, mourning.

Let your remorse tear at your heart,

and not your garments.”

Joel 2:12

TODAY, God is more than ready to give you a new perspective!
