Remember the keys

by Bruce Wadd

I arrived at music practice with a bottle of milk, requested by my wife. Because I wasn’t leaving for several hours, it would need to go in the fridge. Thus a dilemma… how would I remember it?

Then a wonderful friend of mine shared a simple truth, which sounded so logical and new! I’d never thought of using this idea before!

“Why not leave your car keys next to the milk in the fridge, and then you can’t go home without remembering!” How incredibly practical!

Here was a clear boundary! Home wasn’t an option unless I found my keys, next to the milk! I smiled as I picked up the keys and the milk, memory intact!

Our lives need boundaries!

Let me encourage you today to reflect on an area of your life where you have been struggling. What simple strategies can you put in place so the ‘milk isn’t forgotten’? It may save your sanity, your marriage, your fortune, your integrity!

For me… it helps me remember the milk!

“Don't stealthily move back the boundary lines

staked out long ago by your ancestors.”

Proverbs 22:28

TODAY, let God put boundaries in place. Ask, and then obey!
