Recovery time

by Bruce Wadd

Why does a person exercise?

I had so many different answers – “just for life's well-being”; "I want to lose some weight"; to "my husband told me to".

But after walking the steepest hill on my 45-minute circuit I realized the reason for putting my body through torture - to decrease my recovery time. What a pleasure to see the body finally reap the rewards of all the sweating, puffing and sore muscles!

So to, spiritual fitness means getting through difficult times quicker. Being able to recover from challenging experiences through a stronger belief in the God of love brings wonderful pleasure and assurance

Listen to today’s exercise instructions…

“Spend your time and energy in the exercise of keeping spiritually fit.  Bodily exercise is all right,

but spiritual exercise is much more important

and is a tonic for all you do.”

1 Timothy 4:7,8

Today, bend those knees and stretch those muscles!
