Push that button by
The lines are all plugged in. The electricity is on. The performer is standing centre stage, and the band is playing the introduction. The expectant crowd awaits an arousing rendition of the national anthem prior to the sporting spectacular.
Immediately the sound technicians go into ‘melt down’, checking everything with rapid glances - cables, electricity, sound levels. Then it is discovered! On the huge sound desk with hundreds of buttons, knobs, lights and sliders, the one connecting the entertainer’s microphone was left up – a simple but profound error!
Immediately, upon pushing it, came the sound as expected, but the performance concluded without further interruption. The sound technician in charge lost his job that day!
How often in your life have you lived with everything plugged in, ready to go, and the main button connecting it all together is the only thing to be pushed in to complete the equation. That button refused to be pushed. Why? Because it is not in your control – God wants to be in charge of your life!
Have you underestimated God’s power to transform your life? To move you beyond the daily grind of ‘just’ coping? God’s capable to doing so much more with your life.
“You can get anything – anything you ask for in prayer – if you believe.” Matthew 21:22
TODAY, let God ‘push that button’!
