Public holiday peace

by Bruce Wadd

The relatively new estate I live in was silent as I walked its streets. People had not risen - they were still cozy and warm in their early winter’s snooze.

Cars were still safely lodged in their garages. Dogs weren’t barking. The nearby freeway was almost void of the normal morning rush.

An unusual quietness and peace hung over this dormitory suburb. It was a public holiday… And I was out appreciating the moment!

How many times does your life offer a peaceful pause? Where things are quiet, there is no pressure, and you just absorb the peace?

Allow yourself a holiday, even for a few minutes, and listen! God may have something to say in the quietness!

“I am listening carefully to all the Lord is saying –

for He speaks peace to His people, His saints,

if they will only stop their sinning.”

Psalms 85:8

TODAY, take a holiday… and listen!
