Prepared message by
As a kid I made the worst liar! My mum always taught me to tell the truth despite the consequences.
One evening the three children, me included, were instructed to go to bed, and clearly told not to touch the cookie barrel. The temptation, though, was great because of the freshly baked batch of biscuits.
For the rest of the evening my thoughts were filled with only one idea – succulent choc-chip cookies! I lay in bed for what seemed like eternity, thinking of the fresh ‘morsels of heaven’ in the glass jar.
Without spilling a crumb, or so I thought, I slowly ate this treasure, letting the taste penetrate every baste bud – it was to ‘die for’!
Putting the jar back, I secretly returned to bed, lying there in the darkness enjoying both the biscuit, and the adrenalin of the stealing. All I had to do now was to prepare my speech for morning, if queried.
I don’t know how she found out, but at the breakfast table the following morning I was interrogated with various questions. I was given the opportunity to answer, and I tried to deliver a ‘prepared message’, concocted the previous evening.
Half way through my delivery my face started to go red, revealing the lies that were being told. I was found out!
You too may have gone to God with you prepared speech. You’ve sinned again! But here’s God’s reply before you even begin speaking…
“If you confess your sins, God is faithful and just to forgive your sins,
and to cleanse you from unrighteousness."
TODAY, just say what’s on your heart… He already knows!
