Plugged in

by Brandy Ferguson

My husband is a specialist in home theatre.  He has provided services ranging from replacing televisions and installing surround sound to media rooms and whole house automation.  You could say he’s an expert!

The phone calls he gets from his clients intrigue me.  On a regular basis, he will receive a call from a distressed client whose screen is not turning on when they hit the button.  Their remote will not do the trick and it is a serious problem!

I listen as he goes through the usual series of questions: Is your receiver on? Is your TV light on?  Is your satellite box on?  Through his questions, he is able to diagnose what the problem is.  I am always amused by his final question resulting in his customer’s relief – Is it plugged in?

Do you ever wonder why it seems things are harder than they should be?  Maybe you’re experiencing a difficult time - no matter how hard you try or logically think through the process of things, you just can’t seem to fix it on your own.

Its times like these that we need to make sure we’re ‘plugged in’ to Him!

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard,

no mind has conceived

what God has prepared for those who love Him."

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)

Checked your power supply lately?
