Pale white face

by Bruce Wadd

Yesterday my daughter woke up vomiting.  The first excursion to the bathroom was quite substantial, and she felt somewhat better for having ‘thrown up’.

But by the eighth time her curly hair had straightened, the mouth was dry, the stomach muscles were hurting, the energy had long gone, and her normally happy rosy face was a drawn, pale shadow.

What was wrong?  Something had really upset her stomach, to the point where nothing would stay down when swallowed.

Luckily, over the next twenty four hours her health returned to normal, and her appetite and colour returned.

But this event reminded me of something more significant.  Looking into my daughter’s eyes and face when she was sick is so similar to Christians that have lost their joy of the Lord.  They are captured by another spirit, and the love of God is not in their hearts.

Praise Him that being a Christian is all about being in relationship with the God of the universe.  He wants us to have life in abundance, so our faces are bright and rosy, and full of exuberance for living.

TODAY, live in Him!  “Your real life is in heaven with Christ and God…you will shine with him and share in his glories.”  Colossians 3:3,4
