Obnoxious by
A young child throwing a tantrum in a supermarket aisle… A heavy metal lead singer screaming his lines inside a cathedral… An elegant lady wearing red and purple to a formal function… Graffiti being plastered all over the Sistine chapel…
Two blind men, in Jesus’ time, heard of a ‘miracle man’ who was passing by. Both agreed that this was probably their only chance to see and to be healed.
A pact was made between them! As soon as Jesus was within hearing distance they would not be silent till He acknowledged them and healed them. Everyone around them coerced, instructed, and even demanded that they be quiet, but to no avail.
“Sir, King David’s Son, have mercy on us!” they screamed obnoxiously.
Their persistence and faith won through. Jesus stopped and asked a very basic yet important question, “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Sir,” they answered, “we want to see!”
Is it time for you to be obnoxious? To seek God, above everything else, for the miracle of the unanswered questions and needs in your life? Do you believe He can? Here’s what happened…
“Jesus was moved with pity for them and touched their eyes. And instantly they could see, and they followed him.” Matthew 20:34
TODAY, consider ‘obnoxious’ in your approach to God!
