No assistant… slow assistant

by Bruce Wadd

Has there ever been a time when you have finally got all your shopping into your trolley, and being conscious of the time, chosen a particular checkout in the supermarket, only to discover that it was the slowest?  It’s Murphy’s law at work!

Is there someone in front without prices on an item?

Is the shop assistant slow to respond to problems?

Are they new and in training, and don’t know what to do?

What is your response at this time?  Frustration?  Complaint?  Being negative towards the situation?

I wonder whether really practical life situations like this are merely a test of your character.  Are there other ways that you can respond, now that you are in Christ?

“Instead, be really glad – because these trials will make you partners with Christ in his suffering, and afterwards you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory

in that coming day when it will be displayed.”

1 Peter 4:13

TODAY, take each situation that arises – ‘no’ or ‘slow’ – and be glad!
