No matter

by Bruce Wadd

No matter how much I use my rear-view mirror, it’s not going to assist me in driving forward.    Try it sometime.  You could spend all day looking into that small and useful tool, but it is just not enough to predict what’s coming, and at some point you will certainly either collide with something or run off the road.

Looking forward is the only answer.  That huge piece of glass called a windscreen is designed for a purpose – to give you uninterrupted view of what’s ahead! And then the occasional glance in the mirror helps to clarify the forward perspective!

So too with life!  Spending time gazing backwards will hinder progress, but using your rear view mirror regularly, but briefly, gives you a more complete view of the future!

“…no matter how badly we may have messed up in the past, it doesn’t have to define our future” [Closer To God, Oct-Dec 2002 p91]

“Yes, be bold and strong!  Banish fear and doubt!

For remember, the Lord your God is with you

wherever you go!”

Joshua 1:9

TODAY, no matter what happens keep looking forward… to eternity!
