New life

by Vyrona Parker

This year has been a hard year for my plants.  During the summer months, because of the shortage of water, they started going dormant.  A few of the less hardy plants even died.

The plants that would normally flower in winter were starting to shoot, and the ones that should be flowering were no longer flowering but dropping their leaves.  They were confused and suffering badly!

Then came the rain, and I noticed the roses were once again. Buds were forming and new leaves appearing.  New life had returned to the plants!

I couldn’t help but liken this to our spiritual life.  If we don’t have enough of the ‘Water’, we become dormant.  If the supply is restricted too much, we will die.

It’s only when we have the Water of Life running through our bodies that we are replenished, and we can live life to the full.

”If you only knew what a wonderful gift

God has for you, and who I am,

you would ask Me for some living water,” Jesus said.
John 4:10
