Muscle release

by Bruce Wadd

My personal trainer put me on a new program, and like most new adventures, the first few times were awkward and painful [I don’t do pain well!]

One exercise called a lunge involved taking one step forward, and then bending the front leg. Once down, you held, and then returned to a normal standing position.

It sounded simple, but with my level of fitness, my legs very quickly began protesting this new activity. When I finished the set routine my muscles began to relax from the strain they’ve been put through.

‘Finally,’ the muscles sigh, ‘we are stopping!’ Oh it feels good to stop, to calm down and let the screaming muscles warm down and relax.

Living in God’s peace can be the same. After stress, turmoil, pain, confusion, can come God’s peace. Once you’ve tasted His peace you’ll never want any thing less!

“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile

like the peace the world gives.

So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

John 8:27

TODAY, live with continual ‘muscle release’ – peace in God!
