Mt French

by Bruce Wadd

When’s the last time you went on a long or physically challenging walk?

I was trying to tackle Mt French.  In years gone by, it would have been a one-hour adventure, up the sides of this National Park massif.  The view from the top was awesome, overlooking lush countryside, fed by the dam in the lee of this monolith.

Having stood there before I knew I could do it again!  But what I hadn’t factored into the equation were the extra kilograms, the years gone by and the noticeable loss in fitness.

Five minutes into the climb my screaming lungs and the unused muscles spoke (swore) at my over optimistic mind, abusing it for tackling such a task without adequate preparation.  And then I was reminded of the eternal wisdom…

You have to walk the path… last the journey… to get to breakthrough point… to see the view!

Stepping out of God’s path, not trusting His guidance and wisdom will void the coming breakthrough.  Alternatively, the promised blessings will come as you stay the course.

“… that out of His glorious, unlimited resources

He will give you the mighty inner strengthening

of His Holy Spirit.” Ephesians 3:16

BTW Mt. French waits for another day to be conquered (… but that’s another story!)
