That meaningful touch

 by Bruce Wadd

For some of you a crying child is more than a daily occurrence.  Why not take a moment to listen to the cries one more time?

Next time you see a child, maybe yours, crying, watch carefully.  The tears are usually genuine, particularly if there has been a head bump or knee graze.  The child will often have that ‘pregnant pause’ immediately after their accident, and then the screams come with great volume and intensity.

As a parent or carer, you know the cry of a distressed child, one that is in pain and needing attention.  Naturally, you go to their aid, using touch and voice to calm them down to a point where they are happy again.

Your approach provides so much for that child.  The softness and intimacy achieved at that moment builds the child for the future.  That short time of connection is so important!

So too with God!  He longs to touch your life, particularly in those critical times, and shower you with warmth, intimacy and blessing.  He wants to build you up for your future in Him.

“…abiding love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.”  Psalms 34:10

TODAY, let God touch your life!
