Lost @ Auction

by Bruce Wadd

Being a shy little kid can sometimes be really tough!

My grandfather decided to sell his large sheep property.  He was no longer able to manage the demands it brought, so he put everything up for auction.

When the big day came, all the locals came out in force to see what bargains they could find.  Thus there was a swelling crowd of people moving from item to item.

But what began as an exciting event for this four-year old, soon became a jungle of scary big people, with no mother in sight!

Above the auctioneer’s booming voice a faint call of ‘mummy’ could be detected by the surrounding people. Moments later there was silence as the auctioneer held up a little red-faced boy for all to see.

“Does anyone belong to this little ‘fella’?” inquired the interrupted auctioneer.

It wasn’t very long before my mother came running through the crowd, grabbed me and tried to reassure me that everything was OK.

Being lost in life can be equally devastating.  How often have you needed some affirmation of who you are?  And, of where you are in life?

“For He holds our lives in His hands.
And He holds our feet to the path.”
Psalms 66:9

TODAY, take confidence that God knows you and your future!
